(although I'm open to other suggestions of audio extraction)Ĭost difference isn't the biggest issue for me. I use a HDMI splitter to extract Optical audio from consoles to feed into my computer/headphones, so an optical-in is pretty essential to me. My headset is a Beyer Custom One Pro, might plan to upgrade to something with higher impedance in the future depending on what I get. So, I got used to the sound quality it provided and now that it's pretty much non-functional, I've just been using my motherboard sound ports. It was long past time for an upgrade anyways. I had an ancient Sound Blaster Recon3D PCIE that recently has been cutting out all audio after a couple hours use. ![]() Sorry if I'm not the most knowledgeable about some of the specifics: (Or anything else that would fit my needs!) So I'm in the market for a new soundcard/DAC, the GC7 and AE-9 have been at the top of my list for a while but I'm looking for which one you guys would recommend. While it definitely solves the audio issues I bought it for most of the time, and provides very high quality sound, this level of basic usage issues are unacceptable at this point. There aren't clear error handling for cases, things just tend to crash. When Sound blaster doesn't work, it really isn't a good user experience. In most other applications (EG: Games, music apps like foobar, spotify, other voice apps like Discord which is just basically a web app), it seems to work fine. Much simpler solution is just to download the android app.ĭuring Google Meet meetings specifically I've had issues on 05.120, I'm updating the firmware now, but I was able to reduce a lot of issues by turning off exclusive mode in the sound device settings on windows. ![]() Sound Blaster Command on windows 10 seems to be unable to update firmware. I believe these were the default on, which I find concerning. From what I've found, moving the mic input to monitoring level on, turning off direct mode and SXFI seems to make it more detectable and unlikely to crash. Sound Blaster Command may not like detecting the device. Here is what I've figured out, a lot of which I've gotten from threads around here, and what I've solved. I recently got a Soundblaster X3, and mostly its worked fine, but there have been a few weird gotchas I wasn't expecting.
